Episode 107: Once Upon A Time...

A make believe Valentines Day story

"Tick Tock Tick Tock. Fresh shower, check. Fixed hair, check. Nice outfit, check. The nervousness starts to kick in. She knows that this is the night, that everything will start to change. The confusion will finally be replaced with understanding.

The phone rings, "Hello? Yeah, I'll meet you outside." She grabs her coat, purse and roses. Her heart starts to beat faster as she walks out the door. Trying to avoid eye contact, her sight is locked to the cement floor. As she lifts her head, a single smile was all she needed for her nerves to go away. "I bought your mom roses." was the first words she said. With that, their evening began...

As they drive into the cemetery, she feels scared yet honored to share this experience with him. Worthy or not, for someone to share something so personal... it's indescribable. She follows him, not knowing where to go. They stop "well this is my mom" and he begins to place the beautiful red and white roses on her grave. At that very moment, just like in the movies, the rain begins to fall. They stand under a shared umbrella. "Happy Valentines Day." She says a silent prayer and thanks his mother for bringing such a wonderful person into this world. She promises to try her best to watch over him in any way she can. The rain continues to pour, a signal for healing.

They leave and head out to a far away city for dinner. The Cheesecake Factory was the spot. They line up to speak to the host as if they were in a line for a ride at Disneyland. So many couples and families were out celebrating St. Valentine's holiday of love. To be seated inside the restaurant would require a 2 1/2 hours wait. They decide that sitting outside under the heaters would be just fine. Instead of sitting across from each other, he moves closer to her to get a better spot under the heater. The seating arrangements seemed perfect. She just hopes that rain won't start to fall while they eat. When the waitress comes to take their order, he does all the talking. She honestly loves how he does that.

Dinner goes by smoothly, but the night begins to get colder so the infamous cheesecakes have to be ordered to-go. Just like any other gentleman, he offers to pay for the meal. They head out of the restaurant feeling satisfied. Next stop, movie theatres. Yes, three to be exact. The first two theatres just didn't seem to be right. One theatre had way too many people lining up for the box office while the other didn't have decent showtimes. Just when it seemed that the third theatre didn't have any parking spots they find a car about to leave. Jackpot. With an hour to spare, they eat their cheesecakes inside the theatre lobby. She thinks its amazing that during those silent moments together, she still wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

The theatre ends up being packed to its max. When the film was done, you can hear the audience's approval that it was good. Walking out hand in hand, its time to head home. It wasn't too late in the evening, so he decides to chill at her house for awhile and finish the rest of his dinner. Walking to her room, she lets him lead the way. To his surprise, a present with his name on it is on her desk. He stops in the middle of the room and smiles, then looks directly at her. Her plan worked. He grabs the card first, but she tells him to just open the present instead. Oh, the nervousness kicks in again. She really hopes he likes it, and he did.

Time for the card. Her heart beats faster with every second. She sits next to him as he begins to read. "Who would have thought, you would be my most favorite person to chill with... you're dope.... and..." He begins to peel away the post its that are placed in the card. Oh, the anticipation.... "I LIKE YOU." He smiles and shows his gratitude by kissing her forehead and says "i like you too."

They end their night expressing how they feel, letting eachother know where they stand. The confusion is now being replaced with understanding, just what she hoped for."

Yup, a make believe story :) I hope everyone's Valentine's day was great. Too bad I was stuck at home watching A Walk to Remember on Fox Family ;)
