Episode 113: Fools for Christ

So, I’m kind of depressed. Ok, not really... more nostalgic. Today St. Basil’s Youth Group went on their way to Anahiem for Youth day at the Convention Center right next door to Disneyland. About 50,000 young people jump and scream for Jesus, being fools for Christ. There are usually really good speakers that give testimonies about their journey with Christ. Sighhhh, it makes me think back when I was back in high school/early college. I hella hella hella hella miss my faith family. I miss seeing them every Sunday morning while teaching kids in our own assigned classrooms. I miss break time and buying snacks to raise money for our annual PID and summer retreats. I miss Nuclear Explosion, period.

Anahiem 04’ haha look how young we are! That was a good trip :) good memories at Hometown Buffet and the boys with their rib eating contests. That was the year that we got to have a prayer service on the beach with St. Mary’s. DOPEEEE, haha then a helicopter started pointing their lights on us and we had to cut. So everyone heads back to the bus, but Randy, Andrew, Bas & myself stayed behind. Representing the rest of Nuclear Explosion, we prayed over our friendships and expressed how much we love one another. Nothing or no one could break us apart. When we walked on the bus, everyone was just saying “ooooh you guys are introuble.” Haha we didn’t care. The bus driver drove extraaaaa slow that night cuz she was hella tired. We didn’t get back to Vallejo til 4 am?

Anahiem 07’ another good year. We wanted to visit the cathedral again before we went home and luckily we were able to attend mass! That was dope. Swear, if I had extra moolah… Cathedral of our Lady of Angels would be the spot for my wedding. Hands down. The middle aisle seems so long, you could play 2 songs for my entrance! Lol sike. Oh, and during the Youth Day, some of our group got to serve Eucharist during mass. DOPEEEE, yet again.

So, all in all. I miss them. I still get to see some of the brothers & sisters from time to time.

But I have to say… Jasmine Basbas, Brandon Dejesus, Randy Calipes, Andrew Roque, Melissa Viloria, Cyris Jocson, Barbara Novero, and AJ Macareg… you guys will forever & always be in my heart and prayers. I love you guys. KABOOM.
